Running Shaadi is about a business made by helping people run away and get married. Ram Bharosa (Amit Sadh) works for Nimmi’s (Taapsee Pannu) father’s bridal sari shop and has forever been in love with her. But somehow nothing beyond friendship pans out between them. They both like each other but there are constant perils that affect their relationship. Meanwhile, Bharosa has a tussle with Nimmi’s father. In anger, Bharosa walks out and decides to start a business for couples who wish to run away and get married. You see, Bharosa likes to have a plan and that’s exactly what he does as he helps couples take flight. Everything is going fine until one day when Nimmi walks in and says she wants to run away with her supposed boyfriend ‘Shunty’ whereas she actually plans to trick Bharosa into running away with her. What happens next is a mix of laughter, romance, serious drama and even action!

Running Shaadi Movie Review

One of the most impressive things about Running Shaadi is its two lead characters, Bharose (Amit Sadh) and Nimmi (Taapsee Pannu).

Taapsee Pannu sparkles as the spunky Nimmi in this film. She fabulously carries her character who is known to take charge when it comes to finding her happiness. In one of the scenes, where she meets Bharose’s bride-to-be, Taapsee expressed her jealousy brilliantly.

Amit Sadh gives a measured performance in the film. We wait for his act to rise but he is consistently average in most portions. His accent also falters from Punjabi to UP which is slightly disturbing. Arsh Bajwa is entertaining as Cyberjeet. His body language itself is superb.

Because Running Shaadi happens to be Amit Roy‘s debut film, he struggles in many places as a director, which can be seen in the film. Despite the film having a unique storyline, the direction could have been much better.

Final Outlook

Watch if you love romcom movies. You will not regret if you don’t watch. 2 (Two Star) out of 5 star for this.
