Superstar Rajinikanth, who will turn 66 on December 12, has requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday. In fact, the superstar has even asked his fans to not put posters and banners as well.
It is believed that Rajinikanth has taken this decision as a mark of respect to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa who passed away earlier this week. On the work front, Rajinikanth is currently shooting for “2.0”. A sequel to his superhit Enthiran, “2.0” also has Bollywood biggie, Akshay Kumar, playing a negative role.
“Rajinikanth requests his fans not to celebrate his birthday,” his manager Riaz Ahmed tweeted on Friday.
Last year also, he did not celebrate his birthday following the torrential rains in Chennai and neighbouring districts that led to a deluge.
68-year old Jayalalithaa, hospitalised on September 22, suffered a cardiac arrest on December 4 and passed away the next day. The AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu has announced a seven-day State Mourning from December 16.
