Aamir Khan’s Dangal has crossed the 300 crore mark today, becoming only the 4th film ever to do so. Dangal has become the highest grossing film of 2016, breaking the record of Salman Khan’s Sultan in just 13 days after its release. It also become the 3rd highest grosser of all time.
Dangal collects 9.5 crores on its 13th Day at the domestic box office and now total box office collection of Dangal is 304.65 Crores beats Salman Khan starrer movie Sultan which collected 300.45 crores lifetime in India only. Dangal’s Overseas gross collection is 158.70 Crores. Till date (as on 4th January) Dangal has collected 581.45 Crores worldwide.
Though the Salman Khan starrer had a better first day (36.54 crore) and better first week (208.82 crore) in comparison to Dangal (29.78 crore and 197.53 crore) respectively, it is the Aamir Khan starrer which has marched ahead in the race big time.
Dangal is almost certain to become the highest grosser of all time and it’ll be a record that 2017 films will find it extremely difficult to beat.
Aamir and Salman are the only two male superstars in the industry to take their films well beyond 300 crore at the domestic box office. No other actor has even managed to touch the 250 crore mark.
